Profitable Returns: Beyond Money.

I would like to begin with YOU before I delve into other aspects like customers, markets and technology. It is important to understand WHY you are doing what you are doing. Why pursuing the venture, what impact will it have in the society and how will you execute it so that it serves the society and gets your returns back. 

Marketing and its strategies is a complex business undertaking. I will not lie about that; however, that does not mean it is an enigma that cannot be cracked. A lot of people for decades have cracked it and you are about to crack it too through these series of articles. 

In its simplest form; marketing is engaging in action that should result in profitable returns. Profitable returns being very relative; it does not have to be money always. Something many upcoming entrepreneurs tend to focus solely on. Profitable returns can take various forms such as an increase in assets in your company, human resources that results in long term increased monetary returns and such. 

If you did not know this, start with counting your blessings like the catholic song proclaims. Take a notebook and a pen, literally. Spare some quiet time and write down all the positive things that you have gained from the business. Write even the very minute ones and you feel it is not as big, just make sure you put it down. After that, take some time to just go through the list and think deeply how you gained them. Some of them will be a result of marketing.

Marketing sometimes has very visible results and sometimes they tend to showcase in other aspects of your venture. Appreciate this and don't be so hard on yourself.
